Funerals
When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her
and he said, ‘Don’t cry’.
Luke 7:13
We at St John’s-Renfield Church offer you our support and care at this difficult time.
Whether anticipated and to some degree prepared for, or unexpected and sudden, the death of a loved one may be devastating.

The Christian hope is that death is not the end, but rather a new beginning with God who can make all things new. We know this to be so, because we believe that Jesus went down into the darkness of death and that God raised him to new life.
The funeral service that we conduct will affirm this hope, while acknowledging the whole range of feelings that may be washing over you at this time

Funeral Arrangements
Death marks the close of an earthly life, and the funeral is an opportunity for friends and family to gather together to share their memories and all the complex feelings that attend the death of someone who has been a central part of their lives.
There are a number of different ways in which the funeral may be conducted. You will probably have discussed these options in the first instance with the funeral director, who will have contacted your parish minister on your behalf.
If you would like more information about funerals or wish to speak to a minister directly please don’t hesitate to contact the office by email or by phone
